Seeking God’s face together for our community

Whittier Area Prayer Summit Review

WHITTIER >> Pastors and others from more than 50 churches came to pray for government, schools, businesses and others Saturday during the 18th annual Whittier Area Prayer Summit held at the Salvation Army Center.  “This was a call to all of the churches in town to set aside their busy schedules and come together and pray for important topics, local topics and national topics, said the Rev. Dwight Sullivan of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, who helped coordinate the event. “We prayed for elected officials, we prayed for first responders, we prayed for marriages and we pray for our schools and teachers,” Sullivan said. The event is a great way to experience unity and to start off the new year, Sullivan said. It is sponsored by the Whittier Area Evangelical Ministers Association and lasted from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
